Allemaal Meta

De beste Meta kreeg ik toegestuurd van Gert: Meta-Government. Hij voegde er een citaat bij van Thomas Jefferson: I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions, but laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to wear still the coat which fitted him when a boy as civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors. Thomas Jefferson, (1816) Over MetaCommunicatie hadden we het al. Dit begrip stamt uit de jaren zestig. Er is nog geen Wikipedia pagina aan geweid. Wie tijd heeft… Nu er is een goede site van het Palo Alto instituut waar Bateson en Watzlawick werkten, zij mogen beschouwd worden als de grondleggers van Metacommunicatie die ook een vruchtbare psychotherapie opleverde meestal omschreven als de gezinstherapie maar aan de universiteit onderwezen wordt als systeemtherapie. Maar feitelijk stamt het begrip uit de logica (1904). Uit de Wikipedia volgend citaat:

Metalogical questions have been asked since the time of Aristotle. However, it was only with the rise of formal languages in the late 19th and early 20th century that investigations into the foundations of logic began to flourish. Ik ken iemand die u dat kan uitleggen, maar daarmee is de kous af. Geen goesting om mijn benen te breken over al die stellingen . Vandaag wordt Meta in allerlei contexten gebruikt, men spreekt ook van Metasystemen. What’s in a word? zei Shakespeare. Maar die van Gert daar ben ik voor, en nog meer voor de toepassing ervan.
